(With a little citing and note taking thrown in)
Remember: Before choosing sources from which to take notes, you should check the veracity of those sources. Is the source credible, is it reliable, is it verifiable, and is it pertinent? For this assignment, the sources are all from databases and have been evaluated for you.
STEP ONE
- Open NoodleTools and sign on.
- Create a new list named Dickens Practice Research
- Share that list with me at E1107/(2, 3, or 6)
STEP TWO
- Open the article Historical Context: A Tale of Two Cities
- Cite the essay in NoodleTools
- Skim the essay to find the information to create the following note cards:
a. summary of the article
b. social change in England (how it usually happened) - Scan the essay to find information to create the following note cards:
a. information of how, when, why talk of revolution ended in England
b. why the underclass, created by the Industrial revolution, was unhappy
STEP THREE
- Open the article French Revolution
- Cite the essay in NoodleTools
- Scan the bold-faced heading to find the section on the Reign of Terror
- Skim the section on the Reign of Terror and create the following note cards:

STEP FOUR
- Open the article Charles (John Huffam) Dickens
- Cite the essay in NoodleTools
- Read over this article. Then skim through it to create note cards for each of the following:
a. modern critic’s view/feeling toward his work
b. influence from childhood
c. early success
d. death/ tombstone epithet
e. reason for popularity
